QMS certification

ISO certification

         In 1987, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has developed standards for Quality management system (QMS) certification. In most countries, including Uzbekistan, national standards are based on ISO standards. Such standards are titled as O`zDSt standards in our country. They are applicable to the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan only. QMS certification in organizations is aimed to confirm the compliance with the requirements of O`zDSt ISO 9001-2008 (ISO 9001: 2008).

What is ISO conformity certificate?

        Quality management system (QMS) certification is a procedure of conformity validation and assessment of effective implementation of quality management system of applicant’s organization in accordance with the requirements of O`zDSt ISO 9001-2008 (ISO 9001: 2008).

         QMS certification as per ISO 9001: 2008 is a demonstration of production stability. It certifies that the company strictly meets and complies with the requirements of international standards.

Why should you execute ISO conformity certificate?

        By confirming the compliance with quality management system requirements specified in O`zDSt ISO 9001-2008 (ISO 9001: 2008), your organization receives objective evidence of your commitment to the principles of quality assurance and compliance with the customers’ requirements and allows you to demonstrate it to customers and partners.

What are the benefits of management system certification?

ISO conformity certificate allows you to:

  • organize a competent management structure and increase its efficiency;
  • increase the products and/or services quality up to adequate level;
  • increase sales of products;
  • lower costs (production losses, defective products, complaints, loss of time due to imperfect control);
  • sell manufactured products at international prices and increase sales turnover;
  • improve the company image for foreign and Russian investors and partners;
  • increase the chances in market competitive activities;
  • provide the opportunity to obtain preferential loans;
  • provide the public with stable and up-to-date enterprise on market;

provide the opportunity to participate in public bids for state, city or municipal contracts for activities and/or services provision.

ISO conformity certification steps

ISO conformity certification includes one preliminary step and two main steps:

  • preliminary assessment of existing Quality management system (QMS) of specific organization (step 1);
  • analysis and assessment of quality system of organization (step 2);
  • compliance audit of certified quality system (step 3).

         Preliminary quality system assessment (step 1) is based on assessment and analysis of documents of existing quality system of organization audited. Certification authority conducts preliminary assessment to determine the organization ability to implement the quality system certification and feasibility of subsequent certification activities.

         During preparations for quality system audit and assessment (Phase 2), the individual program is developed, where the functions are distributed among the members of expert committee, and working audit records are prepared. The audit program is developed by chief expert and approved by certification body director. The system of laboratory tests is a mandatory procedure that controls the product characteristics and its compliance with certification requirements.

        According to the results of internal audit, QMS audit report is issued. Based on this report, the expert committee makes a decision to issue the certificate of conformity to O`zDSt ISO 9001-2008 or refuses to issue it (if any deficiencies are determined during audit, the auditors shall draw up the lists of non-conformities). In case of refusal, options to improve QMS level for further elimination of deficiencies and decision review can be offered. In general, minor deviations from standards have no effect on certificate issue. Their elimination is checked during consequent annual audits (step 3). If significant deviations from standards are revealed, the certificate can be issued only after demonstration of such inconsistencies. QMS certificate is issued for a period of 3 years with subsequent extension.
